Client
A large enterprise within a major South Korean business group
Challenge
The client wanted to strengthen its existing business and explore new market opportunities through collaboration with a major Chinese enterprise. It had business ideas to discuss but was unsure which department or individual to approach. With multiple business units within the target company, it first needed to identify the people responsible for the relevant business and able to evaluate a partnership proposal.
The client wanted to meet senior executives at the prospective partner to discuss how their capabilities could complement each other and what opportunities they could pursue together. It needed a partner to identify the right contacts, communicate the proposal and arrange a meeting between the companies’ leadership teams.
Liahnson Approach

1. Understanding the Business Objectives
Liahnson & Company first clarified the capabilities the client wanted to access and the business opportunities it hoped to pursue through collaboration. We assessed the prospective partner’s fit and identified areas the companies could explore together.
2. Reaching Relevant Contacts Through Domestic and Global Networks
Liahnson & Company drew on its internal data and overseas partner network to identify the relevant contact who could review the partnership proposal. We then connected that person with the client, explained the purpose of the discussion and coordinated communications so both sides could review the proposal and prepare for a meeting.
3. Preparing the Proposal and Facilitating Initial Discussions
Building on the client’s business ideas, we clarified what each company could contribute and gain from the proposed collaboration. We prepared English-language materials and a meeting agenda so the counterpart could understand the potential benefits and evaluate the opportunity.
We then communicated the proposal and coordinated correspondence and scheduling, enabling the companies to discuss potential cooperation in a video meeting.
4. Arranging Executive-Level Partnership Meetings
Following the initial discussions, Liahnson arranged a subsequent meeting involving the client’s CEO and senior business and strategy representatives. We coordinated participants and scheduling with the counterpart, bringing executives from both companies together to discuss the direction of a potential partnership and business opportunities they could pursue together.
The survey also served as the starting point for deeper research. Responses that required additional context were identified and selected participants were invited to follow-up interviews. This allowed the client to move beyond the initial response data and understand why particular channels were prioritized, what influenced budget decisions and how those decisions were made in practice.
This combination of broad expert input and selective deep-dive interviews is one of the key advantages of an expert survey: multiple perspectives can be collected quickly, while the most relevant findings can still be explored in greater depth.
Outcome
Liahnson brought senior representatives from major Korean and Chinese enterprises together for executive-level partnership discussions. The client gained direct access to the people who could evaluate its proposal, allowing both sides to explore how their capabilities could complement each other and where cooperation could create new business opportunities.
The engagement went beyond providing contact information. By communicating the business rationale and coordinating the process through to an executive-level meeting, Liahnson helped turn the client’s interest in a prospective partner into a substantive discussion about potential collaboration.
